Voluntary Physical Traceability
Physical Traceability has always been a requirement for Fairtrade products. However, the Standards allow 4 product categories (cocoa, cane sugar, fruit juices/pulp/puree and tea) an exception from the Physical Traceability requirements as soon as the Fairtrade products are processed, i.e. they allow for Mass Balance.
Customers trading 1 of the above 4 products may opt for Voluntary Physical Traceability throughout their entire supply chain. FLOCERT will check compliance on this during the audit.
